Updating needed to make good again
Re-visited Friday 22 February 2013 after a few years absence. My first prioity was to try the gym as its the only place I can find where you can work out naked but was dissappointed to find that almost half the machines were broken and there was no indication that they were going to be repaired - pity. However the pool was great as were the saunas and steam rooms. The cinema room , however was out of action. I found it quite busy with a complete mixture of clientalle but not too friendly. The place was kept clean by hard working staff and overall I had a good time but a bit over priced considering the malfunctions.

Dirty
Was there yesterday. Filthy - and not in a good way!
Even after renovations, they still have not fixed the steam room door which does not shut. So you are left in a steam room without steam.
Paper towel dispensers have been added on all levels which is good but no rubbish bins, which is bad. The place had dirty towels all over the floor on all levels and I didn't see one person cleaning last night.
Upstairs is now pitch dark! Cannot see a thing, disgusting paper towels everywhere, floor slippery with lube. It also stinks!
There are a few nice guys there so if you are lucky to meet with someone, go to the mid level, try to find a clean cabin and have fun! There are condoms but you have to look for them in the dark...

...largest sauna in London...
This is the "Flagship" sauna of the Chariots Group and was their first and largest gay sauna in London. It has most of the facilities that can be wished for in sauna - large sauna, two steam rooms, swimming pool, two Jacuzzis, several dark rooms (one with glory holes and incorporating a porno video bay) and plenty of cubicles (the majority of which are a bit small) and it also has a smoking area unlike many other London saunas. There is a large snack bar/TV lounge on the ground floor.

Because of it's size, it attracts a large number of people, especially at weekends. Although it's size is also a drawback, as when less well "inhabited", you can hunt for hours trying to find another human being ;-)

The clientele are of all ages with a preponderance of older men in the early afternoons (except for weekends when the place can be full of "muscle marys"). There can also be a bit of attitude from some of the bathers. Like all large saunas, it can seem unfriendly, but the staff are helpful and pleasant. Due to it's central location and size, many tourists frequent the place.

If you are over 60 and can prove your age with a Freedom Pass or some other means of identification there is a concessionary £2 off the entrance price.

The nearest tube is Liverpool Street and there is also an Overground Station at Shoreditch High Street and numerous bus services. There is also limited parking area in front of the sauna, but the oneway street is on the very edge of the Congestion Zone and some care must be taken driving there.
