Gay friendly hotels in Paris

Period decor - Mature clients
This was a public baths and has been converted into a gay sauna. The basement is the wet area with some "neo classical" decor (statues, marble fountains) a too hot, large steam room, a very cold dousing pool, showers and a small, too cold, sauna, along with showers. Water was adequate pressure and some were reasonably hot - but not all.

The entry to the sauna is in the courtyard, up some nd marble stairs a through a period doorway and gives onto a seating area with rooms of lockers at the periphery. A circular balcony overlooks the seating area, giving the semblance of a "harem" so one can see the new arrivals.

The place could do with a renovation but it is in decent condition. I also saw no sign of disinfecting of common areas that should be every hour or so. Above the main entry, there are two floors with cabins and dark rooms - but no showers, a small outdoor courtyard (for smokers) and porno screens.

As for the clientele, they tend to me 50+, mature and not in their prime. Nonetheless, it is a friendly atmosphere even if sexually it wasn't very interesting to me.

There is an in-house masseur (of untested skill), a snack bar and a small TV room.

Phantom of the Opera?
This sauna is another Art Nouveau “Bains parisiens” originally built as a bathhouse for the local people without bathing facilities. You take the Metro to Montparnasse-Buenvenue (on Lines 4, 6, 12, 13). Make sure you leave by Exit (“Sortie”) 6 which brings up within 100 meters of the sauna, otherwise you will find that you have to do a great deal of walking to get to the place around a difficult street layout.

You go through the street door after ringing the bell, cross the hall to the rear door which leads you to the courtyard and the Bains. On entering the premises your feel that you are at 'Phantom of the Opera' as the atrium has 'Carytides' holding red lit crystal chandeliers enforcing the Art Nouveau theme. The ground floor has the bar and various changing rooms and restrooms. A curved staircase leads to the basement with its further Art Nouveau artefacts, tiled pool, large steam room and sauna. There is also a further staircase leading to more rooms and darkrooms.
Going up from the ground floor via another curved staircase you are lead to a circular balcony with restrooms off, overlooking the ground floor seating area. A further curved staircase leads to the top floor with its porno screen, various restrooms and orgy areas.

The Clientele are mainly from 30's to 50's with a few older men and a few younger guys. The sex mostly takes place in the sauna, steam room and in particular in the top floor orgy rooms.
This is a fun place to visit just like a 1920's film set if you like running up and down endless staircases.
