Sadly Filthy
What a shame such a great resource for this rural area is so badly managed. I viisted and it was filthy, from toe nails on the floor of the changing room to horrible smells in the cubicles.

It's can be easy running a place like this but given that this has such a huge catchment area and the large number of gay and bi-sexual people in the area (from the Apps!!). At a basic level the guy manning the desk did no cleaning in the time I was there - certainly he did nothing else. The floors had not been vacuumed for days and were very dirty.

Functionally the sauna is compact and has all the necessary facilities, it's in a perfect, discrete location and although small the layout works. Sadly there is little evidence of any maintenance and even a touch of paint on the chipped walls would help.

Despite this I understand from the punters that it has a regular crowd and there are times when it is busy.

second visit
I returned again in February 2012 after my first trip last July, and again there were only a small number of people there. Two, in fact. However, they were both friendly and "up for it", so I would rate this as an enjoyable visit. Better to shag with two friendly people than have two dozen unfiendly people just walking round in circles, as happens in some other towns (such as Glasgow!).

keep the place going
Visited Sat 17 Dec 2011 and I must say I came away feeling pretty satisfied. Not a big crowd but plenty of action with a couple of guys. I will surely be back.

OK place
I went on Sunday 10 July 2011. The facilities were fine, no complaints. However there was only one other customer there apart from me. As it happened, he was a nice guy and we had really good sex in the steam room - but without him the afternoon would have been boring. The guy on reception gave me a free pass for another visit, but if there is nobody there it won't be worthwhile going.

Funny how we get two totally opposing views about this place within a few days of each other - I wonder which one we should believe - the latest two not being helped by their not divulging any detail about themselves - I wonder why? (I suppose that one could even be the owner!)

I visited the recently re-...
I visited the recently re-opened sauna in Carlisle (now called "SWEAT") and was pleasantly surprised.
It has been taken over by what appears to be a friendly bunch of guys / staff and has a pleasant atmosphere.

I have been led to believe the works they have undertaken are ongoing and there are even more improvements to come.

Mostly I found the premises to be very clean and tidy.

Well done guys. I will definitely be back
