Good facility but very fussy men
As so often happens at Babylon, there were renovations happening last time I was there in March 2014. Went on Sat. afternoon about 3. There were quite a few western men there & a smattering of Thais but I think most must have known about the renos & stayed away.

As usual, most western men want the young Thais & only occasionally will you be able to connect with a westerner wanting a westerner. I find Babylon to be quite an ageist place. Even the older guys loathe older guys. What does that say about themselves? Anyway, the dark orgy area near the lockers was closed so the only place to cruise was upstairs where all the cubicles are. It was busy enough (given the restrictions) but it is too well lit. Gay guys do like a bit of darkness. It lowers their inhibitions. So, anyway, there was a lot of standing & walking around, all looking bored out of their minds. The hours that Babylon is open at night is silly for a world class gay facility. There is some attitude from some of the staff but if you want a bit of an international crowd, go to Babylon. Just phone first to see if they are still doing renovations!

Through the roof? Bs!
Ok, first off, beautiful place. I have never seen such a nice gay sauna in anywhere in the world I've been.

Now, to the second. The place needs to serious clue on what times to operate on. Closes at 10:30 PM on weeends? You're kidding me!? That's not world class, at all. This place should be open 24/7 or at least late on weekends.

The last point, and this is the big one, is there are way too many white dudes there, OLD OLD OLD white dudes. I mean hunched backs, can barely walk types. This, obviously, the sauna can't control, but I'm warning you like other's have warned you.
Overall, seemed like people were mainly into doing laps around the place, which was a turn off. I went to another sauna in Silom that's opened till 6:00 AM and had almost immediate fun....Granted, the place pales in comparison and their towels are nasty, but the guys are pretty cute and they're there for one thing only, SEX.

I suppose I can see why this reviewer is "anonymous" - A blatant ageist! What does he want the Babylon Management to do - Ban everyone over the age of 30?

I expect that it closes at these times as the majority of the clients want to hit the clubs and bars or go to bed. I am sure if there was a demand for longer hours the management would certainly cater for it.

What an ageist load of garbage this supposed review is. A vibrant gay society has venues that will cater for all age groups, where everyone can feel welcome. Hey buddy, you are going to be old one day & you will not want to be looked on as serving no purpose. We are lucky in that there are lots of guys that like older guys & vice versa. I just find it a shame that more older guys don't like more older guys. Still, such is life.

People do the laps here (& other venues) because so many are unrealistic in their expectations. Mr Perfect probably won't be there - ever! Don't pass up some really great guys because you are fixated by a porn star image of sex. Get over yourself.

As for Babylon, the last time I was there (March 2014) it was terrible because they were renovating , so the dark orgy area was gone. The few rooms available were empty with everyone standing around looking unapproachable & bored shitless. It is far too well lit. Gay men do like it darkish despite the ageist queens that want to make sure you don't have too many wrinkles!!

Good, but my last visit was in 2004
I had a great time there, but as this was maybe my first sauna experience, I didn't get the maximum out of it. Anyway, what a decor, with elephants and caryatids in stone, in a lush green setting. There was a show, very decent and an enterprising Thai caught my attention. As always, middle class, chinese roots and a bit too fat, but terribly hot.
Two days later, I went back and found a more ethnic guy, better looks, slim and muscled.
But how it looks these days, no idea.

too many farang?
Lately there are quite a few reviews that Babylon-indeed a sauna of worldwide fame- is having more farang=white tourists visiting as there are Thai. During Chinese holidays-notably around Chinese New year-many, many Chinese visit-from Taiwan, Singapore etc. Just do not say you have not been warned!

through the roof!
i love going to this place everything i'm in bkk. there's a dark room/cruising area, steam room, which is very nice. it's very clean, and is always packed. the hotel rooms are very nice as well. i didn't appreciate the older white dudes trying to continually have unprotected sex.
