I must have missed the golden hour
Briefly, arrived at around 7:45pm on a Thursday. There's still a lot of hustle and bustle along with an outside beer garden/cafe right next to the sauna itself. I'd hardly call the area dangerous with the amount of people around including security from the buildings in front of MM.
Right, like the previous post, ridiculously hard to navigate around. The two changing rooms for the working guys are also passage ways to the other levels of the sauna and the wet and dry sauna which were so-so. The wet sauna was horribly lit.
The place was pretty empty overall. It looked like a lot of older guys were checking out when I had arrived. It also looked like some of the working guys were also checking out as well. There wasn't much of my taste around so I didn't hire any of the guys. I was out of there in 1 hour. Kind of a waste of $35 reais, but it's probably my fault for arriving later than one should (which is around 5pm). The guys were more aggressive here than other places, so that was much appreciated for me personally. I'll give it another shot when I come back to Rio.
Tips:
Taxis are right in front if you need
Venue takes credit cards
You need to go beyond your locker around the corner to get flip flops and your towel (which is likely heavily stained...)
The changing room on your left when you enter the place is for the call boys, but keep going through and there's the stairway to the lounge, other cabins, porn room.
Straight ahead when you enter is a changing room for customers, and a tv room area and at the back stairs up to other cabins.

2014: Still the best one with boys. Guys are fresh, friendly, many of them mulato or black. Entrance = 45Rs, a room is 15Rs for half an hour. A suite is 25. Well lit. you see what you get. Correct price. Neighboorhood = absolutely safe, even at 10.30pm. Mondays are very good. Because 117 is closed. Fantastic show. Strippers. Tuesday was normal. Closed on sundays.

2011: Only on my third visit to Rio, I found the guts to go to this place. Calling the area dangerous, is not correct, as long as you enter the street from the correct side! E.g. Rua Primeira de Março and the Candelaria Church, and I did that twice by feet, around 9pm.

But wow, I should have been here much earlier. Tons of hot guys, sweeping their stuff. Pricing is more correct (entrance, rooms and boys) than in other Rio saunas with boys. Inside, it's a bit worn-out, and it's a bit difficult to orientate yourself (lots of stairs, two different houses being joined to one building). And local clients tend to visit this place, as if it's just a common gay bar. Few foreigners, thanks to warnings on different places on the web.
You know where to find me on my fourth Rio visit ;-)

PS. The cab driver waiting outside used to be a former garoto de programa. He brought me twice safely to my gay b&b.

Shows on tuesdays end with a little extra. A.live show with horny boys. Around 10pm.
