Fantastic!!! WOW, I thought that it was going to be slow for a Monday.. but it wasn't HOT guys everywhere. Action in the back, in the rooms & in the Steam. This is by far one of the best Saunas in Europe! I went back on Tuesday and it was the same. Next visit I have to come earlier and also try a weekend.
Darkness Not that many saunas in Lisboa, this one must be the best one. Everything is located in the basement, but one will notice that navigation is quite difficult because it's really dark in most rooms. Crowded on sunday afternoons. Another good moment are saturday mornings around 4 or 5.
Avant garde? This is the newest sauna in Lisbon, but a little difficult to find. The sauna is in ‘avant garde style’, that is to say – all exposed pipework with multicoloured laser lighting. The lighting is so poor that it takes at least half-an-hour before you can see your hand in front of your face!
The basement layout has showers, steam, sauna & video room with a smoking/refreshment area. The snacks and drinks are from machines, which because it is so dark, makes your choice a ‘bit’ of guesswork.
Much of the action takes place in the darkroom area between the video and the ‘ refreshments’ with some sex going on in the steam room and adjacent showers & the video room itself. The Clientèle are fairly young with a smattering of the more mature who do not appear to be very welcome. This place is for the younger set whereas the mature are welcome at the Viriato. The Sertorio doesn’t appear to be popular with anybody from what can be gathered from reviews on other sites.
To get there you can take Tram 28E from Largo do Madalena or Largo da Belas Artes and get off at Calhariz (Bica) and walk up the side street Rua da Rosa taking the first right and then first left. The sauna is about halfway up on your left. Alternatively you can get off the Yellow Bus Tour Bus at stop '5' or walk from the Baixa/Chiado Metro Stop – quite a hike uphill past the famous 'Cafe A Brasiliera'
I went twice during my vacation! It was my first trip to Lisbon, so I did not know what to expect. It was your typical sauna, lockers, booths, lounge, snacks, dark rooms. All age ranges. No 'rent boys' so 'hooking' up was you typical 'gay type' selection process. Had a couple of oral sessions in the dark room and was invited into a couple of booths for a couple of bf sessions. It's Europe so EVERYBODY SMOKES!!! I just had to 'get used to it! The staff was constantly cleaning up but you should always wear you shower shoes!!! I won't go into why!!! It's on a very narrow street/alley in the barrio alto. But it was easy to get a cab to and from. I'll definitely go back the next time I'm in Lisbon
